Anderson's Award Winning Service Team

For the fourth time in five tries, Anderson team wins nationwide technician contest

When the Pittsburgh Steelers won four Super Bowls in six years from 1975 through 1980, they were called a dynasty. Anderson Equipment Company is working on a similarly impressive streak, having won four team titles during the five years it has competed for in the Komatsu Advanced Technic Contest (ATC).

The ATC tests the Komatsu equipment troubleshooting skills of individuals and teams of technicians from across the country. Komatsu trainers preset two problems in each machine and contestants had one hour to properly diagnose the issues. This year, there were five categories:
  1. Hydraulic Excavator
  2. Wheel Loader
  3. Dozer
  4. Backhoe Loader
  5. Tier 3 Engine.

This year, Anderson entered a hand selected, five-man team to the ATC. In addition to winning the team title, each technician placed in his respective competition.

  • Mark Schneider, Syracuse – Champion, Excavator
  • Tim McKee, Bridgeville - 1st Runner-Up, Wheel Loader
  • Bruce Ramsey, Bridgeville – 2nd Runner-Up, Dozer
  • Jeff Walker, Rochester - 2nd Runner-Up, Backhoe Loader
  • Dave McCall, Clarion - Honorable Mention, Tier 3 Engine

“There’s no real secret to how we do so well, year after year, said Anderson Training Coordinator, Chris Jankowiak. “We have very talented and dedicated technicians who work extremely hard to stay abreast of information they need to do their jobs efficiently. Our in-house training is good, but these guys do a lot of self-study as well.”

Quality Work Ethic

“Our technicians have a great work ethic. The bottom line is, they want to be able to troubleshoot and repair our customer’s machines in the shortest time possible. They take pride in being the best. They like going to the ATC and picking up new tips and new techniques that make them even better technicians.

That kind of motivation and initiative has paid off for the Anderson technicians – winning four out of five titles – and it will keep the “Anderson Dynasty” going even longer than the Steel Curtain lasted.
